Well-known design journalist Laura Houseley, veteran of Wallpaper* and consultant to several organisations, is currently producing a new title that chronicles emerging design talents and emerging design trends. The work will include the work of 500 of the best young designers and design groups from around the world. The work represented in ‘The Alternative Design Book’ (working title) reflects the current preoccupations of a generation of modern designers at the very beginning of their careers. Thames & Hudson will publish the book in October 2008.

Designers and design groups are chosen for inclusion based upon a single piece of work that has been recently launched and is intended for production. The designs are selected based on their representation of key emerging trends and general accomplishment.
