Joining the next Creative-in-Residence Programme of TheatreWorks / 72-13 is Woods & Woods / Jonathan Seow.
Together they will present “RESUSCITATION” which will take place from 20 till 29 March 2009, at TheatreWorks / 72-13.
Emerging fashion design talents are invited to contribute their individual artistic interpretations of a fashion brief : to incorporate used clothing in their creations. The proposed designs must incorporate used-clothing as a basis to the collection – understanding and altering the original state / idea behind its function, texture, cut & form or re-styled for a different social standing. The brief & criteria sets the formation for the development of thought-fashion, and how fashion and art can cross-parallel; in addition, also allowing oneself to cross-examine various garment types, working & engaging deeper with existing forms.
RESUSCITATION will select six emerging designers to continue with the process : their designs will be created and will be showcased during the 10-day art / fashion exhibition at 72-13; amid a myriad of presentations, adopting an intimate installation format represented through photography, video-works and live-models.
Submissions of portfolios are to be made personally on 24 January 2009, 2pm at 72-13 Mohamed Sultan Road. In this afternoon, Jonathan Seow will speak with all applicants to understand their proposed designs better. Subsequently, a selection of the six designers will be made.
RESUSCITATION is looking for emerging designers who has a Dip or BA in Fashion Design, Jewelry Design, Visual Arts or other related disciplines. Final year students majoring in the said disciplines may also apply.
