TheatreWorks Writers’ Laboratory in collaboration with South East Community Development Council presents The Challenge: Writing a Play in 24 Hours on Pulau Ubin!

The ever-popular 24-Hour Playwriting Competition returns this year to the unconventional site at Outward Bound Singapore (OBS) on Pulau
Ubin. Since 1997, this annual competition has attracted more than 1,000 aspiring playwrights from all walks of life to create plays within 24 hours in unique and engaging settings. Past venues included a cruise ship, the zoo, Turf Club and even a holiday resort on Bintan, Indonesia. The
only playwriting competition of its kind, the programme focuses on the lighter and fun side to playwriting and hopes to make playwriting and
creativity a major part of people’s lives.
Competition Details:
Date: 9 July 2011 (4pm) to 10 July 2011 (4pm)
Venue: Outward Bound Singapore, Pulau Ubin
Categories: Open Category (19 years & above) and Youth Category (15-18 years)
Awards for each category: 1st Prize at S$700, 2nd Prize at S$500, and 3rd Prize at S$300, Merit at S $100.
Capacity: Limited to 70
